Golf Outing

The Great Plains ASHI Chapter is pleased to announce we will be hosting a golf outing in conjunction with the annual Education Seminar.  For more information on the seminar, go to the event page.  This year we will be playing the St. Andrews Golf Course.  (This seemed most appropriate since the British Open is being held at St. Andrews as I write this.)  This is one of the most fun to play courses in the Kansas City area.  It is relatively flat and has 5 par 3 holes.  The course is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel we are using for the Education Seminar.

The format will probably be individual scores by flight.  (Handicaps to be determined after the round is completed based on scores for selected holes.)

Everyone who wants to play is asked to contribute a $5.00 entry fee to be used for prizes to be given.  Prizes will depend on the number of golfers participating, but will include a closest-to-the-pin contest (2 holes), closet to a line in the fairway, longest putt made, and first place in each flight.  As an extra treat, everyone will be given a piece of string.  If you are close to the hole, you can measure the distance with your string and cut that distance off your string.  The putt is deemed holed without adding a stroke.  Or, if you are behind a tree, you can move the ball the length of the string you cut off.  You can continue to measure and cut your string as long as you have enough string to do so.

Directions to course – From the Crowne Plaza Hotel go west on 95th Street to Interstate 35.  Go south on I-35 about 5 miles to 135th Street.  Exit at 135th Street and go east about 4 miles to St. Andrews Golf Course (on south side).

If you want to participate, please complete the following form and return it to Great Plains ASHI.  All entries must include the $5.00 entry/prize fee.  The green fee will be paid to the St. Andrews Golf Course on September 16th.  No entries will be accepted after September 6th, as we have to commit to and pay for our tee times.
